Description: Crystal is a small orange & white female Brittany weighing approximately 25 pounds, and is about 9-10 years old. I named her “Crystal” because she doesn’t see a thing “crystal” clear -- she is completely blind.
Crystal (or “Crissy” as I often call her) gets along well with the other dogs and does amazingly well maneuvering around the house and yard considering that she doesn’t see at all. She likes to sleep and be in a crate. It makes her feel safe.
She does her best with the house-training bit, but gets confused and forgets where she is at. She will require someone that can keep track of her and get to know “when” she needs to go outside and to make sure she finds the water bowl. She loves to be snuggled and loved. She recently had some dental work – teeth cleaning and a few pulled, so Crystal’s teeth are looking much better.
Besides being blind, the vet said she is in good health for a little “older” gal. Her blindness is due to cataracts probably caused by being left outside too much in the Arizona sun. She has not been to a specialist to see if the problem can be corrected.
If you would like to provide Crystal a special home, please complete an adoption application and list “Crystal” from Arizona. Or, if you would like to donate funds for Crystal to see a doggie eye-doctor, please consider being Crystal’s Brittany Buddy, and donate to “Jake’s Fund” and indicate “Crystal”.
History: Crystal was pulled from the Maricopa County animal shelter and was saved from euthanasia. She was picked up as a stray. Her history is unknown.
